Come Dream MasqueParade 2023

After dark and once each year
The Snow King’s Castle materializes in the valley bottom
The mountain folk become silly with anticipation
It’s a happy time
They parade and light the way for all the forest creatures
Fantastic, great and small
Hear the call of the Snow King
let’s meet again
Smile and remember
Dance
Leap, just because
If you want to find out how you and your group or family can get involved in the MasqueParade email us to info@kickinghorseculture.ca

Our first Snow King’s MasqueParade was created as a community celebration to honour the history and cultural heritage of our mountain home in February 2007 … Golden’s Golden Anniversary year.

The dream of the MasqueParade hearkens back to times when neighbours joined together to make their own entertainment and bring meaning to their lives through celebration. These past pandemic years have reminded us — by their absence — that celebrations are integral to the human experience … especially for children and families. Celebratory gatherings nourish our sense of well-being and allow us to access the creative part of ourselves that can become dormant in the whirlwind of day-to-day life.

Snow King & Lady Spring will come back to the valley on Saturday evening Feb. 11, 2023. A dozen or so  “wild and silly” folks are gathering later in November to start the process of creating this year’s MasqueParade and we invite YOU to come join us for some pizza and … fun!

When: 5:30pm Wednesday Nov 23
Where: Golden Civic Centre

If your kids/grand kids are of a certain age that they can listen and contribute their thoughts, bring them along. 🙂

Please RSVP to us by email to info@kickinghorseculture.ca by Monday Nov 21 so we know who’s coming and how much pizza to order!
