The wild and silly creatures of the valley are gathering in Spirit Square on February 15th to celebrate community, creativity and the magic of light returning to the Columbia Valley.

What’s in store you ask?

Many traditional elements of the well known and well loved Snowking Masque Parade, with some new and exciting additions mixed together to make EmberFest. The pageant begins in Spirit Square at 7 pm around a bonfire with whimsical storytelling and performances. These performances are created by members of the community who have been working on their costumes and acts for months. The backbone of this community festival is the artistic energy of these creators that come together every year for the sake of sharing art with each other and with you. This year, we celebrate themes of rewilding and rejoicing to ignite our inner wild child!

After the pageant, there’ll be fireworks. An iconic display of color and light that everyone looks forward to. And from there the festivities continue deep into the night. The taps will begin flowing, particularly at Whitetooth Brewery with their special feature of EmberFest black lager. Musicians will take to the stage here, as well at two other venues in town: the Bar and Grill and the Rockwater, which will both have music until late.

Though the bonfire will be warm, the night air may still be chilly so make sure to dress appropriately for the weather! Bring your imagination, your costumes, and your dancing shoes. Music venues are all 19+, purchase your tickets in advance online at https://kickinghorseculture.ca/emberfest or at the Art Gallery of Golden.

You can now donate to EmberFest. Your donations enable KHC to host incredible festivals and programs that bring people together. Every contribution makes a difference! Donations can now be accepted on our website: https://kickinghorseculture.ca/make-a-donation.
