About The Event
The wild & silly creatures of the valley are delighted and very excited to welcome Snow King & Lady Spring … and all of you! … back to Spirit Square on Saturday evening February 11! Yay!
These crazy creatures have all been celebrating and feasting over the holidays and now — as they do — are ready to celebrate some more!
The MasqueParade hearkens back to a time when neighbours joined together to make their own entertainment and bring meaning to their lives through celebration. So, this is an invite to get in touch and come join us and get your heart in touch with your art and create something to be presented in the Saturday evening Pageant. We want YOU! You can plan and make it at home, or at work in the staff lunch room, in the class room, or in the club house or in our Play House sessions coming up later in January and early February.
Our core group of a couple of dozen movers and makers have started to meet and came up with this year’s theme “Out of the Box.” Our conversations together were summed up by master merrymaker John Denham acknowledging that “COVID is still active, annoying and thankfully only occasionally devastating now. Respecting and celebrating personal choice is important. Let’s go with the simple notion of ‘create together’ as a reminder of what we have done before and can do again now that we can gather once more.”
The “Out of the Box” theme title reflects back on our screen experiences during the pandemic where we all got stuck inside boxes on a screen when we really wanted to gather together with friends and family and work and play mates. We were muted. Sometimes we were frozen. Connections were disrupted and lost. Sometimes nobody saw us.
So now we’re out of the box and with your participation all the wild & silly creatures of the valley are going to put on a Pageant to celebrate the joy of being together in person around the great big bonfire! Together we make low tech magic! #Don’t just dream it!Be it!
Email us to email@example.com with Don’t just dream it! Be it! in the subject. We’ll put you in the loop with others. Tell us about what your family, friends or group are thinking of doing. All the wild & silly creatures of the valley will become your besties!
Listen for the Wolf’s howl to call us all together once more!
