October 24: Sing Sing

“Poignant, Compassionate and powerful”

Imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit, Divine G finds purpose in participating in the Rehabilitation for the Arts program at Sing Sing maximum security prison. Colman Domingo stars in a memorable performance as he works alongside many former prisoners who were part of the group during their incarceration.

November 03: Thelma

“Part thriller, part comedy, part drama – all entertainment.”

A charming  and heartwarming wholesome comedy in a rare movie that prominently features elderly people without patronizing them. At 93 June Squibb plays Thelma who is delightful, serious, bewildered and sad. “A lovely movie.”

November 21: A Taste of Things

“Pot au Feu”…. is a french dish of slowly boiled meat and vegetables usually served a two courses!!!

“Lighthearted, feel-good and melodramatic”

Set in France in 1889, cook Eugenie and her boss Dodin have grown fond of each other over twenty years of working together, and their romance gives rise to dishes that impress the world’s most illustrious chefs. When Dodin is faced with Eugenie’s reluctance to commit he begins to cook for her.

Directed by Tran Anh Hung “The Taste of Things” stars Benoit Magimel and the ever luminescent Juliette Binoche who is reason enough to choose this movie alone!!

December 5: Wicked Little Letters

“Cheeky, Biting and Suspenseful”

Set in a small seaside English town  “Wicked Little Letters” is based on the real life hate mail scandal during the 1920s also known as the “Littlehampton Letters” which involved four court cases and scandalised the Nation.

Worth seeing for it’s brilliant acting alone, it stars Olivia Colman, Jessica Buckley and Timothy Spall. This is a riotous mystery comedy which we hope will lighten the early dark days of winter for our audience as we share laughter on the big screen.
