AGOG is very pleased to welcome Chris Raczkowski to the Art Gallery of Golden for his solo exhibit Mountain Visions.

About The Event

Born in Colorado, Chris discovered his passion for photography early in life – which influenced a journey of global exploration and artistic expression. This ongoing journey led to a special interest in fine art landscape photography, which flourished in the fertile grounds of his millions of miles of global travels spanning several decades thus far. Across that expanse, his lenses have been fortunate to engage sublime beauties of the natural world; from the Swiss Alps, to the karsk landscapes of Guangxi China, to the rugged fjords of New Zealand.

Along the way, Chris found that equally important to capturing the energy of a moment with the press of a shutter button, is the bridge that must be constructed to communicate this energy to others. The ultimate realization of that bridge is a finely crafted physical print. This drives his commitment to producing fine art prints that will endure as legacy artworks for 100s and even 1,000s of years. His passion also extends into the realm of preserving trust in the provenance of fine art photography created by humans (vs. AI generated images).

Currently residing in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, from his perch on a mountainside, Chris puts to work the best of modern photography, software, and printing technology to create artworks by humans, for humans.

Mountain Visions

Chris writes:
At the heart of this exhibit resides in the beauty of our majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains, where breathtaking views consistently surround us every day of the year. Yet, winter months present a special degree of contrast and brilliance that I find to be particularly inspiring. That is our focus for Mountain Visions.

This exhibition also represents a tribute to our opportunity to witness these exceptional areas with extreme convenience.

I have enjoyed every one of the 100’s of hours I have spent driving and walking with my cameras across the Canadian Rockies – to live within the next wonder, over the next hill, and around the next bend.

While the opportunity for capturing beauty in this region is limitless, the presentation of that beauty in a format that inspires people is a key aspect of fine art photography. The process from capturing an image to presenting a finely crafted print is a holistic artistic meditation. No portion of that process can be neglected, or the deep passion embedded in the final artwork may be lost. As such, this exhibition offers not only a vision of winter beauty, but also a dash of understanding and appreciation for the craftsmanship process.
