Beginning her musical journey on the cello, then bass, and eventually settling on guitar. Clayton & Joelle Parsons are old souls with a sound that transcends time. Their genuine country-roots style is reminiscent of the ‘60’s American folk revival scene that birthed Joan Baez, Emmylou Harris, Pete Seeger, and Peter, Paul & Mary. About The Event

Ayla Tesler-Mabé

Ayla has performed for thousands of people around the world, touring extensively with her previous band Calpurnia between the ages of 16 and 18. More recently, her alternative R&B band Ludic released their first full EP in 2022 and opened for Grammy award-winning artists Brittany Howard and Snarky Puppy.

Ayla has also collaborated with many music industry leaders, most notably co-writing and featuring on a song by Willow Smith, performing their song “Come Home” together on stage in New York City. Her creative approach to music has led Ayla to work closely with notable guitar brands such as Ernie Ball and Fender, being instrumental in multiple new product launches. Her undying passion and respect for music as a communication tool have also led Ayla to share her appreciation and understanding of music with others, garnering millions of views on her educational videos.

Last year, Ayla kicked off her solo career with a groovy and soulful series of singles leading up to her debut EP, “Let Me Out!!”, released in autumn 2023. Ayla is now working towards her sophomore EP, leaning into a more psychedelic, rock-oriented sound with her sparkling single, “Am I”.

The Parsons

Throughout their musical partnership, The Parsons have won fans wherever they’ve travelled. Their lyrics are an authentic representation of their often wide-eyed wonder at the world, finding joy in the simple things and profundity in what many of us take for granted. The duo doesn’t rely on heavy instrumentation to underscore the sweetness of their honey-warmed harmonies; Joelle’s rhythm guitar playing compliments Claytons finger picking, providing the perfect thread for their exquisite voices to weave their way around eachother, creating an uncomplicated but gorgeous tapestry of music.

The deftness of their singing and songwriting has not gone unsung: the recently married duo were recognized by the Kootenay Music Awards with the Album of the Year for their debut release in 2016. Live, their sweet and soulful music is punctuated with stories behind the songs, inside jokes that the whole audience becomes a part of and true generosity of spirit.
