MasqueParade Sat. Feb. 18, 2012

The Snow King’s MasqueParade is a community festival that hearkens back to a time when neighbours joined together to make their own entertainment and bring meaning to their lives through home-made celebration.

Beginning  with “Return to the Snow King’s Castle” in 2007, the communal activities that lead up to the celebration weekend allow us to access the creative part of ourselves that can become dormant in the whirlwind of day-to-day life.  Whether it be lantern making, fire spinning, or decorative masque-ing, much pleasure is had as young and old come together for a common purpose… to create some low-tech but, fantastical magic!
