Canadian Mountain Holidays guide Leo Grillmair leads a group on Marmolata peak, Bugaboo and Snowpatch Spires in background, 1968.

Some info taken from the CMH 1969 brochure:

The Bugaboos are one of the best climbing areas in North America. Steep rugged granite peaks rise out of vast glaciers and offer interesting problems to the rock climber as well to the mountaineer.

From East Post Spire, which is an easy trip, to Howser Spire a good ice and rock climb over 11,000ft, all who like to reach  the top of a mountain will find something to match their ambition. The striking contrast of the sheer, dark granite spires against the tumbling glaciers and deep valleys make this an area of exceptional grandeur and beauty.

Junior Mountaineering week full cost/week  $130.00 from ages 12 to 17 years old. Intermediate and advanced mountaineering full cost/week $215.00. Some of the following climbs are on the program: Marmolota, Bugaboo Spire, Snowpatch Spire, The Howser Towers as well as some of the more difficult routes on these peaks.
