This is a world of rock, snow and often, wind. If you don’t anchor your tent down with rocks, it might be airborne in no time, with or without you.  So when things are calm, it opens up ephemeral photographic possibilities for reflections in the area’s many melt water pools. The evening before I had recce’d this incredible circle of rocks in a tarn in front of Bugaboo-Snowpatch col, looking for shapes and colours. The next morning the water was placid as hoped for, and it was a bonus to have a series of climbers walk through the scene on their way to distant peaks. This image was taken when the one small cloud to the east diffused the early morning rays of the sun a bit, making for a moment of soft lighting.
