“Dissolve” Live Stream Performance Thurs. January 14

shameless hussy productions, in partnership with Golden Women’s Resource Centre and Kicking Horse Culture, presents the critically acclaimed one-woman show Dissolve by Meghan Gardiner starring Lucy McNulty.

Dissolve addresses the serious issues of sexual consent, drink spiking and drug-facilitated sexual assault from an entertaining and darkly humorous perspective. The play has been touring to theatres, colleges, universities and high schools throughout North America for over a decade. It is especially relevant for youth of age to enjoy the freedom and independence that comes with socializing with friends and classmates.

Following a college girl on a night out, moving back and forth from bedroom to bar scenes, actress Lucy McNulty plays 16 characters, both comic and dramatic. Night turns to morning, and “Anygirl” awakens from her ordeal as a disoriented yet brave survivor. This show is designed to provoke thought and dialogue around date rape and consent, ultimately challenging our thinking and behaviour surrounding alcohol, drugs and sexual assault.

At 7pm MTN on Thursday evening January 14, Lucy McNulty will be on stage in Vancouver performing for our Golden audience. This performance will be streamed live to our Golden audience watching on their personal screens.

The performance is 45 minutes long and will be followed by a 15 minute Talk Back session facilitated and supported by representatives from Women Against Violence Against Women in Vancouver and the Golden Women’s Resource Centre.

To see the show all you need to do is register below and you will be sent an email with the internet link to watch the show on your personal screen. The show is limited to 100 screens only … so don’t delay….

N.B. we have also made it possible for Golden Secondary School students to see a 10am January 14 live stream performance of Dissolve from their classrooms. Please check with GSS staff to see which classes will be viewing.
