Lia Golemba’s MasqueParade “Fiesta del Corazón” Design

Just finished! Take a look at this.

KHC commissioned artist Lia Golemba to create us a piece of art that would show off the theme of this year’s MasqueParade “Fiesta del Corazón”. Lia is the artist we worked with to create the “GOLDEN. We Call This Home” exhibit of posters that are on display in the Civic Centre. This year the Masque Costume Ball and the Pageant and Parade fall on the Valentine’s Day weekend. Corazón means heart in Spanish and you can use “Mi corazón” to mean “my love”. So “Fiesta del Corazón” it is!

Lia based her design on the iconic Mexican sacred hearts and then brought in the Snow King and Lady Spring and the elements of snow and fire and the snowy owl who played a very crucial role in last year’s Pageant to make up the design.

We’ve gone out and booked TWO very hot bands for the MASQUE COSTUME BALL on Friday, Feb. 14! LOCARNO plays a groove heavy mix of Mexican, Cuban Son and Latin Soul.

Plus we’ve just added the very hot Kootenay stompers THE GOOD ‘OL GOATS to the Ball… two bands, food and drink for Valentine’s at the Civic Centre.

Tickets will go on sale soon at AGOG. Stay tuned for all the MasqueParade info – coming soon.
