Alberta’s Country Music Group of the Year Coming to Golden!

Voted ACMA Group Of The Year for 2011, The Travelling Mabels are a Canadian folk/country trio full of spirit, spunk and laughter drawn from the three generations of experience they bring to the mix.

Collectively, their songs bring a wealth of life experiences to the stage. Vocally, each woman can stand alone, but once you hear the combined harmony blend you will know why these three women came together.

Ian Tyson and Prairie Oyster’s Russell deCarle have both voiced their enthusiasm as have audiences who have been thrilled by their heartfelt, real life songs sung in sweet harmony.

The Travelling Mabels are:
Eva Levesque – Lead and harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, (AKA) Momma Mabel, is a free spirit . Her wit and charm weaves in and out of her songs and story telling, on and off stage. Her performances are brilliant and captivating as she takes the audience on a roller coaster ride of emotions, driven by undeniable energy and heartfelt vocals. Eva helped to pen five of the songs on the album ‘Song in A Dream’ and sings lead vocals on “Maryanne, Merry Go Round and How I Hate Goodbyes”.

Lana Floen – Lead and harmony vocals, acoustic guitar, (AKA) Purdy Mabel, helps to bring harmony and order to the lively and spirited energy that is often The Travelling Mabels. On stage she delivers a style that is pure, simple and to the point with a vocal warmth that can melt even the coldest heart.
Lana had already been singing professionally for fifteen years before forming The Travelling Mabels and has shared the concert stage with many notable Canadian artists, including Ian Tyson and Shania Twain. Lana co-wrote two of the songs on The Mabels’ second album ‘Song In A Dream’ and sings lead vocals on “That’s The Deal, Riding Fences and Time Drags On”.

Suzanne Levesque – Lead and harmony vocals, bass guitar, (AKA) Baby Mabel, has been singing and playing bass since the young age of twelve. It didn’t take long for audiences to realize Suzanne had real superstar qualities. Before joining The Travelling Mabels, she toured extensively with bands throughout Western Canada, including Canadian country recording artist Gord Bamford. Suzanne is also in high demand as a studio session harmony vocalist. On stage, her smile and gentle nature warms every heart, but beneath her cool and calm exterior lies an undeniable powerhouse vocalist. Suzanne wrote and collaborated on three songs for ‘Song In A Dream’ and sings lead on “Go Away, Song In A Dream (title track, written by Ian Tyson), Run And Hide and It’s A Sign”.
