Celtara has been part of the Celtic folk music scene since 2004.  Performing at folk clubs, concert series and festivals they have brought their inspired blend of traditional and original Celtic folk music to enthusiastic and appreciative audiences.  Their fans have described their music as

“Timeless and enchanting”
“Foot-tapping, Celtic joy”
“Heart wrenching, soul mending, spell-binding and original”

The five members of Celtara are music veterans – Bonnie Gregory (fiddle, harp, vocals), Tami Cooper (flute, pennywhistle, vocals), Andy Illig (guitar, bouzouki), Steven Bell (accordion, piano, vocals), and Mark Arnison (bodhran, djembe, percussion).  In various combinations members of this band have recorded and performed with Scona Brae, Sheela Na Gigh, Maria Dunn, Cowboy Celtic, Keri Zwicker’s Harp Rouge trio, Barry Luft, Steve Coffey, Lizzy Hoyt and many others.

Celtara’s latest album, More Than One True Love is a beautiful collection of songs and instrumental tracks celebrating the many facets of our lives that bring us joy and energy. The album was recorded in Calgary’s Rocky Mountain Recording Studio, with Rob Smith at the controls. The album placed #7 on CKUA’s top 30 chart when it was released in January, and remained on the chart for 6 weeks. Celtara are the subject of a full-page article in the Spring 2011 edition of Penguin Eggs – Canada’s top folk, roots and world music magazine.
