Fresh from the Tiny Lights Festival, three “best of the fest” acts launch this year’s Summer Kicks. The Wolfe is an award-winning, all-female trio of indie rockers with a high-energy sound reminiscent of the Cranberries. Hailing from the West Kootenays is twangy roots-rocker Steve Brockley, whose four-piece band deftly blends elements of country, soul and folk. And Albertan singer/songwriter Maddie Storvold combines elegant finger picking with a honeyed voice.
