West African Summit with Alpha Ya Ya Diallo
Transports audiences to the heart of the beauty, power and sheer energy of West African music.
THREE TIME JUNO AWARD WINNER, ALPHA YAYA DIALLO,
has joined forces with the acclaimed director and choreographer, Alejandro
Ronceria to create an extraordinary musical journey into the irresistible rhythms
and exuberant dance of Alpha’s West African native land, Guinea.
We’re blessed that we’ve been able to bring Alpha and his Summit ensemble into Golden a day early and set up a very special dance workshop.
If you like to dance or want to watch how west African dance is created, we are now taking advanced registrations at the Art Gallery of Golden. Adults are $10 and students are only $5. The minimum age for taking the workshop is 9 years old – must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a very unique opportunity for our little town so don’t miss it. And make sure you get your tickets for the big West African Summit stage production at the Civic Centre the next evening, Tuesday, Nov. 27.

David Braid Jazz Piano
KHC is very pleased to add on an EXTRA show to our LIVE Kicks 2012-13 season! When we found out that David Braid was going to be just a few hours away in Calgary for a number of concerts and workshops, we extended the invitation to David to make the drive to Golden and come play a solo jazz concert on our new Yamaha Grand Piano in the Civic Centre. We’re thankful he agreed.
For lovers of jazz and the piano and for folks who like to be adventurous in their musical taste, do not miss this performance!
