From my tenuous position half way up the Kraus-McCarthy route on the west face of Snowpatch Spire, I was able to photograph (with a very long lens) these two climbers descending a thin snow ridge on the Northwest corner of Bugaboo Glacier. The two are framed in the picture by Pigeon Spire on the right and the far southeastern flank of Snowpatch Spire on the left. With hundreds of feet of air beneath my body and seeing these two so small amongst the famous Bugaboo granite, my head spun with a sense of insignificance, spatial awareness and deep love for the mountains in my backyard.
